As Architects, we tell stories. Our designs are expressions of the world we wish to imagine. Every story has a beginning, a conception that begins far before pen touches paper. The manifestation of an intent that evolves to form the very world around us.

We feel it is important for us to promote this process, to document our story-telling, to see where intent comes from and the endless possibilities of where it can go.

At Studio di Architettura, the Design Process is celebrated and valued. We see architecture as both a profession and a craft, blending both tradesman-ship and art, balancing both decades of experience and the wonderful possibility of naivety.

Fundamental to the philosophy of the firm is the notion of balance, viewing architecture as the means of striking a harmonious balance between building and landscape, past and future. With this comes not only the desire but the absolute need to place a strong emphasis on notions of adaptive and sustainable design techniques and technologies as an inherent part of contemporary architecture. 

  

Studio di Architettura was originally founded in Barbados in 1996 by

Giuseppe Soffietti, who has decades of architectural experience, having practiced in Italy, Barbados and the Caribbean, the USA, South Africa and throughout Africa. Working on a wide variety of projects ranging from high-income luxury residential, apartments and resorts to affordable housing projects.

He's joined by his son, Ettore, who's obtained his Master in Architecture from the University of Cape Town, specialising in sustainable practices and design.
